The fact is that the models are nothing but a blank canvas for a group of artists to paint. They provide the basic structure in which the media can be used. If an artist goes to a certain regard, he may choose to paint on wood instead of canvas, it’s the same for the models. If the photographer tries to make a pair of jeans especially thin, it will choose a model that is already thin, in fact, makes the model more slender through digital manipulation. However, the same model does not have the shape of the eye to promote a line of makeup, in this case, a second blank slate to be found.

None of this is to say that models do not work for their looks, but how they work and why they are used, as opposed to non-models is that the artist of advertising will do less work with a model has already was developed in the direction they want. Some of us might be models with technological advances and photo manipulation, but we need more work by the manipulators to make us the desired image, and those who have the most money to end are people who are willing to do less work.
