If you’re launching a new digital SLR camera, chances are you’ve heard the media giant two brands: Canon and Nikon. Although these signs are so big on the screen because of their popularity there are other brands to consider. Sony, Olympus and Pentax are the three leading manufacturers of digital SLR cameras. I think none of this question is looking for entry-level camera, so I will focus more on the details of the entry-level cameras.

We began our relationship with Canon’s popular range. Canon Digital Rebel line has become extremely popular with new photographers. Although very capable, decent camera, I found one important thing I do not like the camera. The body material is plastic. I do not put my cameras through a very dangerous situation for this to be a real problem, but the Digital Rebel feels weak. I like a camera to feel important when you pick up. Rebel figures (all variants), just do not feel so great.

Apart from that, these cameras are easy to use. Photos can be printed in honor of the large size of the professional (perhaps almost professional) quality. I’m sure that most consumers would be satisfied with these cameras.

Giant Nikon is the next generation. Nikon, Canon, offers a fantastic range of cameras, entry-level DSLR. They D40/D60/D80 lines. These cameras are quite nice. I really do not like how the D40 base has an autofocus motor built into the camera body. Additional lenses are available with integrated motors, but they are as expensive as you can imagine. However, the Nikkor lenses for Nikon cameras are excellent.

My personal best Pentax SLR’s favorite. Pentax offers something that I like very much: the reduction of the vibration of the images embedded in the camera bodies. Although not as good as the vibration reduction lens at very high price, is still sufficient for most shots. It also applies to any lens, you can use. This is very useful.

Another big bonus for Pentax is the compatibility with all SLR lenses ever made. It’s not a misprint, Pentax cameras are compatible with all lenses. If you see a film of old Pentax lenses for sale cheap, it will work with your digital SLR. Pentax lenses tend to be cheaper (in general) that the objectives Nikon and Canon. I think it’s a great incentive to buy the Pentax.

Another great advantage of Pentax is the choice of the battery. Each camera uses Nikon and Canon proprietary lithium ion. These batteries are expensive to replace. You are also unlikely to find substitutes readily available in stores, but no camera and stores the battery. That said, Pentax uses AA batteries. AA rechargeable batteries last about as long as the owners of the batteries, and cost a fraction of the price. It’s easy to keep a few sets of rechargeable AA at all, and while AA will only work if the batteries are exhausted (which are also easy to find, except in the most remote parts of).

Although I have no experience with other brands of cameras, be aware they are there. It is important to base a decision on personal preference and peer reviews that advertising is expensive when you and your camera. Do not be afraid to go to a camera store and physically have the cameras. Be sure to ask friends and associates of the store in its recommendations. There is more to the world envisioned by Canon and Nikon at the TV screen.
